Team Based Synchronization
End-users are looking for access to their content from anywhere, on any device. Enterprise File Sync & Share systems copy data to those devices. The paradigm for Team Based collaboration is different, there should be one authoritative location for your teams' content. In SharePoint this could mean not-only bi-directional synchronizing a single document library from one location to another and back, but also being able to have full Site Collection content, documents and lists available for teams to collaborate on.
Select the content that is most important to back-up
Collaboration often results in large volumes of content being produced, and if that content isn’t available the whole process is broken. The mythical 100% availability. End-users don’t care how it’s delivered; they expect it to work. However, not all content is created equal. To decrease complexity you can select a specific set of rules to create an always available back-up of the most mission or business critical content.
Efficient Use of Network – Adaptive Routing & Compression
Synchronization is a complex set of conflict resolution, compression and encryption. To have confidence that your content will be available your system must be able to replicate content over limited bandwidth networks and recover from an outage on either side of replication. Mission critical SharePoint installations rely on content being the smallest size possible and flowing through the best network connectivity, automatically replicated throughout multiple farms.
Monitor All Farms from a Single Location
Whether personal or enterprise synchronizations, end-users and administrators alike want the confidence the content is where it is expected to be. For mission and business critical SharePoint content, especially across multiple farms, an administrator wants to be able to see all content successfully transferred, in-flight, and/or conflicts. This allows for troubleshooting of underlying infrastructure that may be causing content to become out-of-sync.
Cross-Domain Secure Content Synchronization
The rise of SharePoint content collaboration among multiple government agencies and commercial organization using various networks at different security levels accelerates the need for advanced SharePoint tools that automatically replicate and synchronize sensitive documents. It is important for these systems not only to remove the human error that may occur, to to also comply to the advanced security requirements for inter-federal agency, joint, and coalition mission environments. Bi-directional synchronization is available to these organization even in the strictest security environment.
